Humpback Chardonnay

  • Chardonnay is made from 100% estate grown Chardonnay off the Karridale vineyard.
  • Our climate, viticulture and low cropping levels produce intensely flavoured fruit, and barrel fermentation in new French oak creates a wine with complexity and finesse.
  • This is a serious Chardonnay with considerable depth of flavour. Butter, peaches and cashew nut nuances, with layers of fruit flavours and a long, smooth finish.
  • A wine to enjoy with a wide range of foods – chicken and seafood come to mind, in its youth or over the next few years.
Humpback Cabernet Sauvignon

  • After the fruit reached optimum ripeness, it was left on the vine for a further week in mild Autumn weather.
  • This ensured full ripeness without the “greens” or capsicum flavours evident in some Cabernet wines.
  • Dashes of Malbec and Merlot add middle palate, and barrel maturation in French hogsheads and barriques has added a further dimension.
  • The fruit and oak are marrying nicely and will continue to improve the wine for 5 – 8 years.
Chardonnay Pinot Noir Sparkling NV

  • We harvest our sparkling wine grapes in the cool of the night and under the light of the moon to optimise the fruit condition. ANDREW KOERNER – Winemaker
  • Flinders Bay Sparkling exhibits a fine and persistent bead, the hallmark of true method traditionally sparkling wines.

Humpback - Pinot Gris
  • Multiple small batches were harvested in the cool of the night, and immediately crushed.
  • This is important for this variety, as it avoids extended skin contact, ensuring a crisp, fresh wine.
  • We think the wine is a fine example of the variety, nailing it in both vineyard and winery.
  • Drink it young or over the next couple of years.
